If Iron Road stalls after a train hit, check your game version before retrying. Patch #6, Version 1.0 (1663), addresses a lock-up triggered by two shells reaching the train together. It also repairs the mission's consecutive-kills medal.
The train is hit, but the mission will not advance
Match the symptom to the official report: the trigger was simultaneous impacts on the train, not simply missing a target. Update the game and compare its displayed version with 1.0 (1663); the version page explains the numbering.
The announcement does not say whether an already blocked save is repaired. If it still happens after updating, record the version, whether the run was resumed or started fresh, and the impact sequence. Include those details in the developer's Bug & Feedback Hub. Keep the existing save until you have decided whether to retry; this guide does not require deleting it.
The consecutive-kills medal will not unlock
Patch #6 identifies this Iron Road medal as previously unobtainable. It separately fixes Steam gold-medal achievements, so record whether the missing reward is inside the game or in Steam.
No required streak count or retroactive-unlock behavior is specified. Use the requirement shown in your mission and keep the end-of-run result when reporting a failure. The medal guide explains how to document an attempt.
Can I leave and continue later?
Patch #6 introduces saving when you exit a mission and continuing from that save. Check the Save & Resume notes before relying on it for a long run.
This page covers official fixes, not a tested train-interception walkthrough. Fixed coordinates, shell choices, firing intervals, and medal thresholds remain unverified here. For the underlying aiming workflow, use the map and spotter guide.
