Patch #8 fixes and conflicting October player reports are separated. Current medal thresholds and a universal Phantom Battery gold route have not been reproduced by this site.
Update to Version 1.0 (1705) before retrying a gold medal using an older guide. Patch #8 adjusts several requirements that were too high, including some that made gold impossible. It also changes accuracy and friendly-fire scoring in mission 13, Phantom Battery.
The notes do not provide a replacement threshold table or say that every medal problem is fixed. Use the requirement shown in your current game rather than a number copied from a launch-week post.
Which medal fixes matter?

In mission 13, additional incendiary fires and the hostile battery's shots no longer affect the player's accuracy or count as friendly fire for medals. This correction does not say that your own direct friendly-fire hits are exempt.

Are all Phantom Battery gold medals now obtainable?
The patch notes do not make that blanket claim. A player discussion dated October 2–3 reports a remaining problem with a no-recon medal. A reply provides a successful-run screenshot and a different explanation of the counted kills.
Those reports conflict, and they do not establish one reliable current-build route. They are useful leads for comparing your medal text and result, not proof that the mission is always broken or that one workaround always succeeds.
Are Steam achievements the same as in-game medals?
They are separate records. The store advertises more than 100 in-game medals, while Steam has its own achievement list. When something fails to unlock, first identify whether the missing reward is on the mission result screen or in Steam.
Patch #6 fixed both an in-game Iron Road condition and Steam gold achievements, but it listed those as separate fixes.
How do I check a failed attempt?
- Record your displayed game version and the exact medal requirement before starting.
- Keep the mission result screen: shots, accuracy, kills, reconnaissance, requisition, and any friendly-fire count shown.
- Compare the requirement with the current result, rather than an older guide's number.
- If retrying, change one part of the route and keep both results.
- If the same mismatch persists, send the version, mission, medal text and result to the developer's feedback hub.
A screenshot of another player's gold medal can show a successful run. Without its build, medal text and route, it cannot establish a universal threshold.
